Last updated: 4 July 2026
1. About these terms
These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Simple Bills software application and website at simplebills.in ("Service"), operated by Enso ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Eligibility
The Service is intended for businesses and individuals operating in India. You must be at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use this Service.
3. Account & access
- You sign in using Google authentication. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure.
- Each account is linked to one company. You must not share login credentials or allow unauthorized persons to access your account.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are inactive for an extended period.
4. Subscription & payments
- The Service is offered on a paid subscription basis (6-month or 12-month plans).
- Payment is processed offline (bank transfer / UPI). You must share your transaction reference with us to activate or renew your subscription.
- Subscriptions are non-refundable once activated, unless required by applicable law.
- If your subscription expires, access to the Service will be paused until you renew. Your data will be retained for a reasonable period.
5. Your data
- All business data you enter (invoices, purchases, customers, vendors, stock, accounting entries) remains yours.
- We do not sell, share, or use your business data for advertising or any purpose other than providing the Service to you.
- We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but we are not liable for data loss caused by events beyond our control (hardware failure, natural disasters, etc.).
- You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of critical business records.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable Indian law.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems.
- Reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute any part of the Service.
- Upload malicious code, spam, or content that could harm the Service or other users.
- Use the Service to generate fraudulent invoices, falsify GST records, or misrepresent financial data.
7. GST & compliance
- Simple Bills helps you create GST-compliant invoices and prepare summaries and filing packs for your chartered accountant (CA).
- We do not file GST returns on the government portal on your behalf. You or your CA are responsible for verifying data accuracy and filing returns on gst.gov.in.
- We do not submit TDS returns. The TDS summary export is a convenience tool for your CA.
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your business records, tax calculations, and regulatory compliance.
8. Service availability
- We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
- Scheduled maintenance, updates, or unforeseen technical issues may cause temporary downtime.
- We are not liable for any losses arising from Service unavailability.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, code, branding (Enso mark, Simple Bills name), and documentation, is the intellectual property of Enso. These Terms do not grant you any ownership rights over the Service — only a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for your business during an active subscription.
10. Limitation of liability
- The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
- Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the subscription fee you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Termination
- You may stop using the Service at any time by not renewing your subscription.
- We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, with or without notice.
- On termination, your right to use the Service ends. We may retain your data for a reasonable period for legal or operational purposes, after which it will be deleted.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or at this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Gujarat, India.
